Friday, March 7, marks the end of week six. It is also the deadline for all faculty to issue an Academic Progress Report (APR) for every first-year student on your course roster. Course rosters and APR links are found by logging in to MyGoucher. If you have any technical difficulties, please contact the Helpdesk right away.
APRs are extremely important for timely and informative academic advising and provision of academic support services. They also provide positive feedback that advisors can discuss with students as well.
Besides issuing an APR for every first-year student on your rosters, please also issue an APR for any student who is not performing well (e.g., missing class, missing assignments, etc.). It is helpful for us to know about even relatively small problems because we can learn how widespread they are and be more effective in addressing the issue(s).
Advisors: Please consider scheduling a mid-semester conversation with advisees next week, particularly first-year students, to discuss the highs and lows of the semester and what the advisee should consider before the registration advising session.
The fall course selection guide will be available to faculty and students on April 2. Advising for fall courses can begin anytime after that. Sign-up sheets on office doors are recommended when possible. Online course registration begins April 21. Further detail will be provided by the Registrar's Office.
